After over a decade of accomplishments that include four critically acclaimed full length albums, a short list nomination for the Polaris Music Prize, TV show placements, magazine covers, a win at the East Coast Music Awards and a touring schedule that has taken them around the world, the beloved Bumstead recording artists from Charlottetown, PEI will hit the road one more time before calling it a day. All tour dates are listed below.
To all of our friends and fans
After 12 years of making music together we have decided that ‘Foolish Blood’ will be our final album. We want to make it clear that we are not breaking up due to any personal problems within the band or because of any creative issues – it is just the right time. We want to thank all of you from the bottom of our hearts for the love and support we have received over the past decade. We have travelled farther and met more wonderful people than we could have ever imagined. When we started playing music together in our parents’ basements in 2001 our only intention was to write our own songs and hopefully get to play them for an audience. We truly feel fortunate that we have been able to do that for as long as we have.
We can’t say goodbye without taking a moment to thank some of the people who made all of this possible for us:
Our wonderfully supportive families, Larry and Sheryl Wanagas, Tim Des Islets and everyone at Bumstead Records, Joel Plaskett, Ken Beattie, Adam Countryman, Dwight Ireland, Caitlin North, Sean Russell, Matt McQuaid, Jim Scarth, Nathan Gill, Dan Griffin, Darryl Neudorf, Alec, Judi and Jerry O’Hanley, Grant Lawrence and everyone at CBC Radio, FACTOR, Music PEI, SOCAN, ECMA, Pop Up Records, ABC Music, Geoff Trio, Manish Raval, Smothered in Hugs/ English Words, Mardeen, The Danks, Pat Deighan, The Dudes, Rah Rah, The Golden Dogs, The Meligrove Band, Wintersleep, Hey Rosetta!, The Jezabels, Dead Letter Chorus, In-Flight Safety, Zeus and all of the other great musicians and bands that we have met and that have inspired us.
We are all music junkies and will never stop writing and playing music so rest assured we will see all of you again. Thank you so much. Rock on.
